Trim has no ads and no analytics. We store what the app needs to show you your own numbers, and nothing else.

What we store

• Your account. The identifier Sign in with Apple gives us, and your email if you choose to share it. If you hide your email, we get Apple's relay address instead. We don't store your name.
• Your profile. Height, birth year, sex, time zone, activity level, energy unit, and your energy and weight goals, including past goals so old days are judged fairly.
• What you log. Energy entries (amount, time and label), favourites, weigh-ins, gym sessions (times, effort, activities and notes) and reminder settings.
• Gym locations you save. Name, address, coordinates and radius.
• Your Trim Plus subscription. What Apple tells us when you subscribe, renew, cancel or get a refund: the plan, transaction ID, expiry date and whether it renews. Apple handles payment, so we never see your card.

What we don't store

• Your location. Your iPhone watches for your saved gyms on the device. Trim never sends us where you are.
• Food descriptions and photos. See Describe below.
• Anything for advertising. There are no ad, analytics or tracking SDKs in the app or on this website, and we don't sell or share your data.

Describe (Trim Plus)

When you describe a meal or take a photo, the text or a shrunk copy of the photo goes to our server and on to Anthropic, whose Claude model makes the estimate. Claude may run a web search for published nutrition of branded or chain food. We keep the estimate only if you log it. We don't store the description or photo, only how much AI use each request cost, so we can keep spending within limits.

Gym Live Activity

When you arrive at a saved gym while Trim is in the background, the app sends our server the gym's name, the session times and a one-time push token. We pass them to Apple to start the Lock Screen timer. Nothing from this request is stored.

Where it lives

Your data is stored with Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia. Database backups are kept for 7 days. Reminders and notifications are scheduled on your iPhone.

Deleting your data

In Trim, go to Settings, then Delete account. This deletes your account and everything above from our database straight away. Copies in backups expire within 7 days. Signing out deletes nothing. Deleting your account doesn't cancel Trim Plus; cancel it with Apple.

Apple Health

Trim doesn't read from or write to Apple Health.

Children

Trim isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

This website

No cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. Our host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Changes and contact
